How to read wind speed & direction:

Wind speed and direction are displayed for reporting airports in graphical form.  The wind direction is drawn using a T shaped bar. Wind moves towards the perpendicular point of the T and is displayed in 30 degree segments.  Wind speed is displayed in three colors, Green = 0 – 15 Kts, Yellow 16 – 25 Kts, Red  26 + Kts. This allows you to see the big picture of the wind on the ground for hundreds of miles around you,  it is also useful in giving you a rough idea on what the actual winds aloft are doing. Wind is also displayed in text next to the T indicator, if you decrease the range.   By displaying the information in a color coded graphical form at a glance you can view areas where the weather is changing quickly.
