For optimal performance Echo Flight strongly recommends the following components be part of every datalink installation. Failing to follow these recommendations may result in long or inconsistent delivery times for weather.  Additional issues to be addressed regarding installation are identified in the installation guide.

Data Link • CI 248-10 Frequency • 137-150.5 MHz The CI 248-10 is specifically designed for use with Weather/Data or WX  systems, bringing email and weather data to the cockpit. The 248-10 links to the ORBCOMM™ LEO satellite constellation to bring real time weather and email within easy reach of any pilot. This was built for pure electrical performance.

Data Link • CI 177-4 Frequency • 137-150 MHz    The CI 177-4 is specifically designed for use with Weather/Data or WX systems, bringing email and weather data to the cockpit. The CI 177-4 links to the ORBCOMM™ LEO  satellite constellation to bring real time weather and email  within easy reach of any pilot. This was built for pure electrical performance. Its 1.5:1 VSWR provides the best reception of any airborne antenna of its kind. .

Noise Reduction filters  Lonestar  Aviation Phone:                             1-682-518-8882 or 1-817-633-6103 The  following filters are strongly recommended for every Echo Flight satellite communicator installation.  Alternator filter Eliminate  alternator noise in the following: intercom systems audio panels nav/coms vhf-uhf transceivers gps, loran receivers  moving maps adf receivers fm radios dc operated peripherals caused by: aircraft alternator systems.  Doubles the capacitance of existing filters.  Power line filter  The Eliminator is a low pass double (LC) PI type filter  designed to suppress both low and high frequency line noise. The filter may be connected at the source of the noise or on the input of the satellite communicator.  Magneto filter  Eliminate magneto EMI-RFI noise with our FAA-PMA approved ignition filter. Easily connects to the primary lead and grounds at the magneto body. Please verify that the magneto  filter is approved for your specific Magneto.
